Festivals

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about some of the different festivals that people celebrate around the world.  We have learned about Diwali and made our own Diwas and party food made out of coconut.  We have also made Christingles, visited a local church and written a class book about the Christmas story.  Have a look through some of our photos!
Mrs Barker carefully lights our Diwas.

All our Diwas lit up the room.

Ecclesfield Church is nearly 400 years old.

This window tells the story of Jesus' life.

We all wrapped up warm... it was freezing in the church!

Reverend Stordy showed us around the church.
Back at school we built a church out of blocks.

Friday, 7 December 2012

Meet this week's bloggers.

This week we have been to the church for a look around.  We learnt about Jesus and God and why people pray.

I have enjoyed making transformers out of knex.  They are called monkeybusiness, whappertail and gunshooter.

I enjoyed making Christingles in class.
